The field of Asian Art encompasses a large array of materials and chronologically spans from the Neolithic period into the Qing dynasty up to about 1800. Areas represented include Chinese pottery, porcelain (both for the domestic and export markets), painting on both silk and paper, stone and metal sculpture. Works of art, including scholars' objects are represented with works in wood, stone, lacquer, jade, enamel, glass and ivory. We also offer examples of Southeast Asian and Indian stone and metal sculpture.
